The Friends’ committee prides itself on providing a range of informative, enjoyable talks, visits and events for the benefit of members, who are always encouraged to make suggestions for future planning.
In recent years destinations for visits have included: St. Andrews museums, Dalmeny House, Inchcolm Island, Dunfermline City Chambers and Abbot House, Burntisland Museum of Communication and Heritage Centre, Methil Heritage Centre; and in Edinburgh the Queen’s Gallery, the Scottish Parliament and the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art.
Talks on various subjects have been held at the Galleries, St. Bryce Kirk and Sinclairtown Library. To keep costs down we use public transport and car-sharing wherever possible. Guided tours are often arranged and refreshments - a very important part of any trip - are usually available close by.
One very important aspect of the Friends’ year is the opportunity for members and their friends to come together and have a good time socially. The Christmas Party, with food and musical entertainment, is a welcome diary date, as is the Spring /Summer Party in the Galleries.
